Our class, in our words:

Otter Class: creative, collaborative and ambitious. We have a dynamic and engaging classroom with a good balance of focused work and creative exploration. We frequently work in pairs or small groups, sharing ideas, solving problems together and learning from each other. There are opportunities for imagination where we are encouraged to think outside the box and express our ideas in unique ways.  In this kind classroom, there’s often a sense of excitement and curiosity, with a strong emphasis on both learning from each other and challenging ourselves to grow. The space might feel lively, with lots of conversations, brainstorming, and hands on learning, but also there are times of focused work too. This year, we have had some wonderful experiences already and are looking forward too many more before we leave.

Homework:

In year 5, the children receive a weekly Maths and reading comprehension sheet to reinforce their learning and help support with their learning.

In year 4, the children receive a weekly Maths sheet based upon their times tables to consolidate the learning.

All of the children also receive weekly spellings which are tested each Monday. These are based on the Year 4 and 5 key spellings and their class spelling rule.

Reading journals will be acknowledged weekly and the children should have 3 entries at a minimum.
